The aim is to fund ambitious transnational RTD projects addressing materials research and innovation including materials for low carbon energy technologies and related production technologies.
The Call 2020 includes the following thematic areas:
- Modelling for materials engineering and processing:
discovering and designing new/advanced materials, providing improved predictive tools and facilitating the creation of interoperable databases, to increase the European competitiveness.
- Innovative surfaces, coatings and interfaces:
This call will stimulate application driven development of innovative surfaces, thin films, coatings, interfaces and related process technologies including electrodes and other interfacially relevant inner battery components.
- High performance composites:
This call topic is aimed at high performance composites having functional properties for engineering applications such as transportation, construction, packaging, energy.
- Functional materials:
Proposals within the scope of this topic should aim at the development of advanced functional materials or materials systems.
- New strategies for advanced material-based technologies in health applications:
The objective is to develop biomaterials as scaffolds for tissue regeneration. The investigated biomaterials should target at least one clinical indication.
- Materials for additive manufacturing:
The objective is to develop innovative materials such as metals, ceramics, polymers, composites and multi-materials designed for use in AM processes and enhanced production processes in order to improve or modify properties of manufactured products.
