CHAPLIN program aims at stimulating the development and commercialisation of Lignin based bitumen in order to sustain and accelerate the bio-based market. The scope of the program is to valorize and exploit bio-aromatic lignin products as binder in bio-bitumen for the use in asphalt so as to improve the greening approach of the Industry while reducing CO2 emission. Increasing value for lignin will allow improving the bio-based business and stimulating economic activities such as biorefineries, lignin bitumen and asphalt production.
